You know, to create a list of people, that are thought to be influential or
inspire other wallers, doesn't do anything other than create egos and make
divisions in a hobby that really doesn't need any of either. Communities thrive
because there are hundreds and thousands of individuals that all have something
unique to contribute. Every single person has the ability to make something
memorable or "popular." But what suffocates that natural creativity is
the other people who need to make a LIST of what and who is considered
"good" or "popular" or "influential." People coin
words for styles like "sceneric" and cease to evaluate wallpapers
individually, and instead view it or degrade it as part of some massive trend.
The only way this list could ever be useful is if it included everyone that ever
made an anime wallpaper. But that's not going to happen because there's always
an underlying need for some people to be a member of a smaller, more exclusive
community---a clique, which smilebit has already alluded to.
For lack of a better term, this is extremely circle jerky.

awesome tutorial, I was just gonna start scanning my Animage when I saw this!
NOw the only thing is, how not to squash the
spine...
Animage spines will open without the pages coming loose. But you do have to
break the spine. They still lay flat though. You can't keep anything perfect if
you're going to scan it anway...
I think yrpnova means is, that it's not the scanner's responsibility to fix the
scan, just the downloader's--cause he's the one who wants to use it in a
wallpaper. But to note, unedited scans tend to be a lot larger MB wise because
the grainy-ness is extra detail.
Nah, if you make the requirements higher, you just get less people to sign up,
and thus, more dedicated members overall. Spammers generally give up or lose
interest. Makes for a better community in the end.
Umm... I find that the mods at AO are all really efficient and nice. If you've had a problem with them,
it would come to reason that you were
the problem. Either way, I really don't think it's right for you guys to be
commenting on individuals who aren't here to defend themselves.
And, if I recall correctly, Jinzhou is an AO mod. So, you shouldn't make
generalizations about one of your own!!
I think you should organize the scan section... Cause like, at the moment,
Shoujo-ai and Shounen-ai have scans of girls... sooo... Is there supposed to be
a difference? o.o
